Breeze Airways Regulations For Carrying Sports Equipment

Going out on an adventure on a Breeze Airways flight? You might be required to carry your sports equipment. Are you wondering if you can carry your equipment onboard? The sports equipment will be a part of your checked or carry-on allowance and must meet the specified dimensions, and weight requirements. Else, charges for overweight or oversized baggage may apply. What Sports Equipment Can You Carry On Breeze Airways?

Archery Equipment 

You can carry a bow, a quiver, twelve arrows, and a target (small or medium in size). A hard-sided container should be used to carry them so that the equipment is protected from accidental damage of any kind. 

Balls

You can carry them in checked or carry-on baggage. The balls must be deflated completely or slightly, This way you can pack them easily and transfer them safely. 

Baseball 

You can carry as many as two baseball bats in checked baggage only. Other baseball equipment may go in checked or carry-on bags.

Bicycles

Non-motorized and single-seat bicycles are permitted though only as a part of your checked baggage. E-bikes aren’t accepted. You must pack the bicycles well within a padded, hard-sided case. You must remove the handlebars and pedals so that there isn’t any damage. Paddled bicycle cases with hard sides should have weight and dimensions lesser than 70 lbs, and 80 linear inches. The charges for oversized, and overweight bags may apply. 

Bodyboards, Wakeboards, Skimboards, and Boogieboards 

A board of a dimension less than 62 (linear) inches is counted as a single checked bag. You must pack the boards well so that it isn’t damaged. Remove any keels or fins and place them in your checked bag so that they aren’t damaged. Boards exceeding 62 linear inches won’t be accepted. 

Bowling 

If you are taking bowling bags as your carry-on, it should be such that it fits below the seat to your front. It may contain bowling shoes (a single pair), and bowling ball (a single piece). Bowling can remain below extra legroom, as well as standard seats only. You cannot stow them in the bins overhead, and they may even go as checked bags, depending on their size. 

Camping 

Knapsacks, backpacks, sleeping bags as well as tents may go in as checked or carry-on depending on their size. The onus lies on TSA officers though, and you may be asked to take them as checked bags too. You can take tent stakes in checked bags as well. Camping equipment like stoves, fuels, and flares, aren’t allowed either in carry-on or in checked baggage.

You should always transport golf equipment in hard-sided travel cases.to avoid damage. Oversized, and overweight fees will incur if the weight exceeds 50 lbs, and the dimensions are more than 80 (linear) inches. 

Hiking or Trekking Poles 

You can carry them only in your checked bags. 

Hockey Equipment 

You can check a hockey bag alongside two sticks which are wrapped together. The sticks and bags are checked as a single item. If you have ice skates you can check them in your hockey bag so that you aren’t delayed in the TSA screenings. Bags exceeding 50 lbs in weight, and 80 inches in size will incur overweight, and oversized fees. 

Inflatable Paddleboards 

A deflated paddleboard, a multi-piece paddle which have been disassembled, as well as a manual pump may be checked. You should pack them properly in a secured container. 

Lacrosse 

A lacrosse bag with equipment as well as two lacrosse sticks which have been wrapped together can go in as checked baggage. If carrying sharp objects such as tools, knives, and unloaded spear guns have to be sheathed or wrapped securely. You can take these objects only in the checked baggage, 

Skates, Skateboards, and Longboards 

A longboard or non-motorized skateboard can be checked when packed properly in a well-suited container. To store them in carry-on they should comply with the specified dimensions and also have to fit in the space below your seat. 

Snowboard and Ski Equipment 

These include a pair of snow skis or a pair of snowboard. You should pack them securely in a container. Other than this, you can even carry poles (one set), a helmet, and ski boots (one pair). If your boots are packed in a bag alongside other items, then you’ll have to pay for the particular bag. When your equipment exceeds 50 lbs or 80 inches, overweight and oversize prices apply. 

Tennis Equipment 

These include rackets that you may carry in your checked or carry-on baggage. However, whether you can carry rackets or not depends on the TSA officer. That’s why checking your racket is recommended to save yourself from inconvenience of any kind. 

Water Ski Equipment 

You can check water ski equipment which include water skis (one pair), a tow rope, and a vest or life preserver belt. Pack them well in a bag or container. Water skis of various sizes are accepted. Overweight or oversize charges may apply in case the bag exceeds 50 lbs or 62 inches. 

Breeze Airways’ Rules for Carrying Firearms As Sports Equipment 

If transporting firearms as sports equipment, there are certain rules and regulations to consider. The guest should be a minimum of 18 years of age. Moreover, the guest checking and carrying the firearm must be the same. You can travel with firearms on domestic flights only. 

You must unload your firearm and carry them in a hard-sided container designed specifically for carrying firearms or sports guns. Moreover, the visitor must have the combination or key. As many as two gun cases are allowed that shouldn’t be more than 50 lbs or 62 linear inches. The locks should be such that it must protect the firearm case from opening. Locks having cables or long shackles won’t be accepted either. You must carry firearms in checked baggage. You must also declare your ammunition, and firearm while checking them at the ticket counter. 

Carrying ammunition has the same regulations as that of carrying firearms. You must pack firearms separately from ammunition. Moreover, when packing the ammunition you must pack them securely in the original container. Other containers made of fiber, metal box, or wood can be used as well, provided they are designed for carrying ammunition. Small arms ammunition for pistol cartridges, and rifles not exceeding 19.1 mm, are permissible for carriage. Per guest can carry a maximum of 11 lbs of ammunition.
